Botched Model 3 Hitch Install

https://photos.app.goo.gl/7wu29W8axfndiNaH7

Energy display shows about 3 miles of about 1kwh/mile energy consumption while the car was in the possession of the hitch installer.  Normal energy consumption is around 200wh/m or a bit more.

  1. Does that show that the installer took a really fast drive to test the hitch?

    1. Yes. You can not tell when it happened; the horizontal axis is miles, not time. But, the duration of the high energy expenditure (900-1000 wh/m) was about 3 miles. I'll eventually test to see what it takes to replicate. I imagine he accelerated up to ~120 mph, turn around and did it again. I first notice something not right when the average energy consumption was more than 300 wh/m over ~20 miles. "Normal" is 200-250 wh/m. I also noticed starts were more abrupt and then found it was not in the power limited "chill" mode which I use almost exclusively.

    2. Does not seem a good place to leave your car for repairs. Have you questioned his poor work and behavior with the car?
